My Cousin the Farmer

Front
The farmer from Oh Crop! looks suspiciously like my cousin - who is a farmer! Is the spitting image a coincidence or did the artist really do some research to see how a proper Swedish farmer looks like? The similarity is stunning! :)

Anyhow, he had to have a barn, a duck in the barn and some chickens around it. Looks like he got some hay in, even though we had a wet summer!

Jane Austen's sliding frame card

Don't you just find interactive cards very interesting? I do! I thought it'd be extra interesting with a sliding old picture from Jane Austen's time, especially since the birthday girl happens to be a big fan of the books. I heard that she liked it. :) I hope you like it too!

Stamp-a-faire Homemade Embellishments

It's not very often I recreate an entire card, but I think I'll do that much more often! I learn a lot when I try to copy and I also have to push myself a bit out of the comfort zone, using different embellishments, colours and layouts.
I love Melissa Philips!  I followed her tutorial on how to make a handmade felt ribbon embellishment.
This is my take on her card:
Well, I'm no Melissa, but this is the result! :)

This is Melissa's original card:

The-Challenge
Your challenge is to create some custom embellishments using inspiration from one of the tutorials above.  Then create a project using them.  You can choose to re-create an exact project from one of the team members or design something of your very own.

I used:
PTI stamps:
Movers & Shakers Sentiment
Fancy Flourishes
BB: Text Style
First Fruits

PTI Ink:
Canyon clay
Classic Kraft
Fine Linen
Aqua Mist

PTI felt:
Vintage cream
Canyon clay

I also used a wooden button, some twine, sewing thread and craft and white cardstock.

Stamp-a-faire Camp Card Challenge

I'm continuing the Stamp-a faire challenges today! The original hours doesn't work completely when you're in Scandinavia, and I had to go to bed before the last 2 posts on Nichole's blog. Anyhow, I'm sure I'm not the only one going on today too! :)

Well, here are my 3 cards, made with the technique from Betsy's tutorial!

Stuff used:
In the Meadow Silhouettes die and stamp (PTI)
White cardstock, patterned paper from Tilda Collection (Panduro Hobby) and twine in 3 different colours.

And here are the rules:
The-Guidelines
--Create your own card set using inspiration from one of the tutorials showcased above or develop your own design.  Your project must also incorporate at least one Papertrey product.

Stamp-a-faire Limited Supply Challenge/Ribbon Techniques Challenge

Edited: I'm entering the  Stamp-a-faire Ribbon Techniques Challenge with this card as well, because I made a bow like the one on Dawn's video!

Okey dokey, here we go again!

I used an even more limited supply than the list below. I don't have the Natural Beauties set yet and because of that I decided to go with Lace Bouquet as my stampset of choice.
I used a saddle stitch ribbon instead of the bitty dot, because I just had a saddle stitch ribbon in the right colour!
I tried to use the buttons, but I didn't like how it turned out, so I skipped them.
The paper I used:  Stamper's Select White and Aqua Mist
The inks I used: Aqua Mist, AMuse "Fern" that has the same colour as Simply Chartreuse and Hawaiian shores.
I had to use some foam adhesive as well - or the card would fall apart! :D

Here are the rules:

The-Challenge
Your challenge is to create a project using the limited supply list provided below.  You can choose to re-create one of the designer projects or design something all your own.
These are the specifics that were provided to each of the team members.  You can use as many or as few as you like and any inks you prefer.  You may also add in dies, twine or glitter if you desire. Please do not use any other products besides those listed below, however you can substitute the Natural Beauties stamp set for another floral set if need be.
  • STAMPS: Natural Beauties only (or another floral set as a substitute if needed)
  • PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Simply Chartreuse
  • RIBBON: Hawaiian Shores Bitty Dot
  • BUTTONS: Simply Chartreuse

Stamp-a-faire Ribbon Techniques Challenge

I loved Erin's cake! But how could I make one myself without the dies and stamps from "Make a Wish"?
Hmm...

I found out that if I cut from the base of the wite cardstock, I could use the bottom of Fillable Frames #9 and the house from Love Lives Here. (The little heart is from the house too!)
The stamps I used come from "Movers & Shakers Sentiment" and "Mat Stack #1" and were stamped with PTI True Black.

Ribbons used: PTI saddlestitch Aqua Mist and Scarlet Jewel.
Oh, and I used PTI white cardstock, as well as some other stuff from my stack!

Here are the rules:

The-Guidelines
--Create a project utilizing your take on the Ribbon Technique Challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and one of the ribbon techniques shared above.

The farmer's egg

Sets used: Wake up and Green Acres.
The background is from another company (TSG's Oh Crop!) and is there to show that the little farmer from Green Acres fits perfectly in all kinds of rural communities! (And fits even on holidays in the Middle East - as we've seen before!)
Here is my little happy farmer again with his good egg! To make the "old photo" I used only brown shades of copics and lots of Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
What do you think of his Van Gogh-hat? To make it look like that, I used both copics and Distress Markers (especially Picket Fence!). I'm not sure you should use them both, but it worked! :)
Up close and personal, it has a somewhat felty look! It turned out pretty cool - though I'm not really sure you can see it!

The Farmer on vacation

Sets used: Zoo Crew, Surf and Turf, Wake Up, Get Outta Town, Green Acres and Little Lady.
Ah, you know the drill by now! :) Once more: the farmer on Holiday!
(Every day is a much better day with a huge ice cream, right?)
You probably figured out that the waves and the sand dunes are the same stamp. (It's the waves from Surf and Turf!)
To make the water I cut out a piece of patterned paper and drew a circle with a marker, all around.

The shy giraffe

Sets used: Zoo Crew, Surf and Turf, Green Acres and Promenade.
InLinkz doesn't want me to publish more pics from the same post, so here it is, once more.
(I hope this scene makes you smile!)

Paper Smooches card again....

Sets used: Swanky Snowdudes, Surf and Turf
(God Jul = Merry Christmas in Swedish.)
InLinkz (used for entering here) doesn't want me to publish more pics from the same post so here is the Snowfamily on Ice - once more!
Oh, I think I forgot to mention that the letters I've used are from MFT (their Typewriter Alphabet set).

My Paper Smooches cards...

Sets used: Promenade, Happy Camper, Promenade, Party Posse
("Ha en jättebra födelsedag" = "Have a great birthday" in Swedish)
The footprints are stamped with Memento London Fog ink. I've used patterned paper and lots of copics and Memento Tuxedo Black ink... Of course I had to use my beloved bling stones as stars! (I think that's all.)

Falling completely in love with Paper Smooches stamps I decided to try out for the PS guest DT spot in August. Please wish me luck!

(Here is the total collection! InLinkz doesn't want me to publish more pics from the same post, I'm sorry if my new posts becomes a bit repetitive!)

Sets used: Swanky Snowdudes, Surf and Turf
(God Jul = Merry Christmas in Swedish.)

Sets used: Zoo Crew, Surf and Turf, Green Acres and Promenade.

The tree is made from layers of stamped (and masked) trees from the Promenade set!
I hope you can see the dimension that is added!

Oh, and how about a farmer on vacation?

Sets used: Zoo Crew, Surf and Turf, Wake Up, Get Outta Town, Green Acres and Little Lady.

I like to build up dimension, though I think it's a bit hard to see it...

Sets used: Wake up and Green Acres.
The background is from another company (TSG's Oh Crop!) and is there to show that the little farmer from Green Acres fits perfectly in all kinds of rural communities! (And fits even in other settings, like having a holiday in the Middle East - as we've seen before!)

See, he checks each egg! This egg has quite a bit of dimension foam under it, but how on earth do I show it in a pic?

Sets used: Green Acres, Party Posse, Smoocheroos and Promenade.
This is the same card I used with the last PS SPARKS challenge, though I add it here too!

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge July 1-8 Trends Watch challenge

As my dear blog readers probably already know, I found out (rather recently) that I really enjoy Paper Smooches
The new Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge uses the image of this cool cart as our inspiration:

(Hmmm... easy? Not. But after awhile I started to think "stripes"... And I can see them use this very cart in the stores - if they have any carts there!)

I hope you like my little scene with the black cat who accidentally adopts a little fox! (Who knows what happens in the city? Once I found a badger in the heart of the city, and my city is the 5th or 6th biggest in Sweden!)

Hope you have a lovely Saturday!

Stuff used:

Promenade
Green Acres
Party Posse
Smoocheroos
