Inspired by Bunnicula

I got a very silly book from my fiancée as a Halloween gift, it's called "Bunnicula", and of course it's already gotten me to giggle. I really do appreciate weird stories! (I plan on rewatching "The Curse of the Were-rabbit", very soon, I have to add.)
Anyhow.
I wanted to give my youngest niece a little Halloween card, but it couldn't be too fancy, because I'm a bit worried that she may eat everything that's not properly glued down. Being in the spirit of Bunnicula already, I thought I'd use the little trick- or treat bunny.
Well, here is the result. Very CAS to be me!

I'm no Melissa...But I had fun. That's what counts!

Not too long ago, Melissa Philips posted a MIM video (#83) on how to make one of her fantastic cards. I've been yearning to try, though I haven't had any time until now. My time is filled with work, and I wonder if I work 100% or 150%?... I'm rather sure it's closer to the latter!
Anyhow, I decided that I'd finally try it.
I use the same layout (almost) as Melissa, but I do my own take on it, as usual.

Inte för allt för länge sedan gjorde Melissa Philips en video som visar hur hon gör ett av sina fantastiska kort. Jag har längtat efter att testa själv, men jag har inte haft tid förrens nu. Ibland undrar jag om jag verkligen jobbar 100% - det har varit närmare 150% efter sommaren!
Jag bestämde att jag måste göra något åt saken och här är resultatet. Jag använder (nästan) samma layout som Melissa gör på sitt kort, men jag har gjort det på mitt vis, som vanligt.

My First Halloween Card 2012

Right now I don't have time for anything! My workload has been a bit extreme lately, to say the least. I was so stressed out that I just had to take a break and do something else for awhile. This is what happened yesterday evening, when I decided that I needed to make something fun, just for me, for just a couple of hours...
The lesson learned: It's very much easier to work when you take breaks!

Sookie Stackhouse - my way!

I just finished reading "Dead Reckoning" by Charlaine Harris. No, I've this far refused to watch "True Blood". (I'm afraid that the pictures in my head that I create when I read these wonderful books will vanish! It's such a charming book series! Btw, I've heard that the story of the TV series is nothing like the books... I'll stick to the books - they are so cute and fun!) The card today is a tribute to "my" pictures of Sookie Stackhouse and her world.
I printed out a pic of Faith Hill and used tons of PTI stamps.
(Doesn't she look exactly like Sookie? She does in my head!)

I used the same sketch as the WMSC, last week. The more I looked at that card I made for the challenge, the more I saw that the house from Boards and Beams stampset IS Sookie's house... I just had to make this one!
The vampire from my Martha Stewart Vampire stampset from last year just needed to be in there too!

JAG slutade precis läsa "Dead Reckoning" av Charlaine Harris. Jag har totalvägrat att titta på "True Blood" på TV, trots att jag vet att serien är baserad på böckerna. (Jag kan för mitt liv inte överge bilderna jag har i huvudet från denna oerhört charmiga bokserie!) 
Kortet idag är en hyllning till "mina" bilder av Sookie Stackhouse och hennes värld.
Jag printade ut en bild på Faith Hill på vår skrivare och använde massor av PTI stämplar. 
(Ser inte Faith ut precis som Sookie? Det gör hon i alla fall i mitt huvud!)


Jag använde mig av samma grundskiss som jag gjorde förra veckan till WMSC. Ju mer jag tittade på förra veckans kort, desto mer insåg jag att huset från Boards and Beams verkligen ÄR Sookies hus...
Vampyrstämpeln från förra årets Martha Stewart Vampire-stämplar var ju också tvungen att vara med!

I made some neat acorn clothspins as well! I just had to show you how one look like! (The buttons are also layerd with the MIM technique of the week, though I forgot to take a picture from the side to show them!)
This card is entered in 2 competitions: MIM #34 and WMSC #67, since it fits both criterias! :)

October in September

THIS time I wanted to create a Halloween card that shows how it normally looks here in Sweden on October 31st. We live just next to a graveyard and when I saw the beautiful stamp that covers a card at Scrapadabadoo I knew just how I wanted the card to look... Unfortunately, no matter how good the camera is, there is no way to show you just how cool the texture is and exactly how the sparkles mimic the first frost on the paved roads. (Feel free to magnify the pics!)
I love this new Goosebump texture spray!

JAG ville göra ett Halloweenkort som visar hur det brukar se ut i Sverige den 31:a oktober. (Jag har sett så många kort från andra sidan Atlanten med pumpor och höstlöv... men sent i oktober brukar det inte vara några höstlöv kvar på träden där vi bor...) 
Vi bor precis brevid en kyrkogård och när jag såg den här stämpeln från Scrapadabadoo visste jag hur jag ville att kortet skulle se ut. 
Tyvärr spelar det ingen roll hur bra kameran är - det finns ingen möjlighet att göra detta kort rättvisa. Jag har försökt att fånga struktur och skimmer, men det är omöjligt! 
Jag har använt mig av den nya Goosebump texture spray och effekten är faktiskt fantastisk. Skimret liknar den första frosten på asfalten! (Förstora gärna bilderna!)

The light is always really tricky in November. But finally I've been able to take pictures that aren't too shaky... My finished Vampire Album. Enjoy! :)

Det är ju, som ni alla redan vet, inte det lättaste att ta bra fotografier innomhus i November... Tricket är tydligen att fotografera på en lördag, klockan 12.00, för sen blir det mörkt igen. Idag är i alla fall takfönstret inte täckt av snö!

Exploderande spökhus/Exploding Haunted House

I used the "Eerie" collection by Basic Grey. The felt stickers are from the same collection. The rounds are cut with my 1" circle punch from the back side of the package of the felt collection. Black tags from IKEA. Pumkin made by 1" rounds and some small green scraps of paper...  Idea and instructions for exploding haunted house: Laura Denison.


Jag använde mig av papper ur Basic Greys serie "Eerie". Filt-klistermärkena är ur samma serie. Rondellerna är utstansade med min 1" stans och motiven kommer från baksidan av kartongen som klistermärkena kom med! Svarta adresslappar från IKEA. Pumpan är gjord med rundlar från 1"-stansen och av några små spillbitar av grönt papper... Idé och instruktioner till exploderande spökhus: Laura Denison.
