The Duke wishes a Merry Christmas to all!

I've decided to enter this card in the Paper Smooches SPARKS challence "everything goes".  :D
As you already know Paper Smooches has the best stamps ever!

I was really bummed out because I haven't had much time to make cards for Halloween this year...
Making up for it, here is the third card in the "Silly Series".
I don't know what happened, it just assembled itself ( - almost)!
So... one of my most serious stamped backgrounds (alcohol inks, glossy paper and real red rubber stamps with archival ink) - and a bat from Paper Smooches - Voilà!

This card also reminds me of a December when a bat lived in the main hall of a school, because it was a particularly cold December. On the last day of school, when everyone was gathered in the main hall (and it was the first time the main hall was used in a long time) the bat started to have a flight show during the Christmas songs. The bat was flying out of the hall eventually, and some teachers let it out. The bat went back inside the main hall after the celebration was finished, and survived the harsh winter.
The next year, there was no bat living in the main hall, but when the headmaster started his yearly speech, it was not his usual speech. To all the participants' delight he read a letter from "The Duke", the bat from the year before, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!

Stuff used:
Stamps: Falling for you (Paper Smooches), B Line Designs - Lizzie's Home, Crafty Individuals 209
Other: Copics, twine, Memento tuxedo black ink, alcohol inks, Ranger archival ink (jet black), blingstones, glossy cardstock, blue cardstock from Panduro.

Silly Birthday Cows... I mean Cards.

I've decided to enter the first of these cards in the Paper Smooches SPARKS challence "everything goes".
The stamps from Paper Smooches are always making me laugh out loud !

Grattis på födelsedagen = Congrats on your birthday!
And sorry about the light. I live in Sweden and it's not ever much light at this time of the year!
I have two cards for you today. I was complaining to my crafty friends that I don't know what's wrong with me, because I've been trying to come up with a serious card all week, but this is what comes out instead! Birthday cards - featuring cows! Well, I guess I needed a good laugh! Don't we all?

Heavy embossing on glossy cardstock. You can hear the soundtrack to this mooovie, right? :D
I do. I know it's just in my head, but it's there!

A Professor in the Corner

A detail.

R and I are cooperating on a layout! Yay!!! I'm not allowed to show the whole thing, because there's lots of people in it that haven't agreed to be published...
...But here is the professor from Paper Smooches!
(My cards are coming later...)

Inspired by Bunnicula

I got a very silly book from my fiancée as a Halloween gift, it's called "Bunnicula", and of course it's already gotten me to giggle. I really do appreciate weird stories! (I plan on rewatching "The Curse of the Were-rabbit", very soon, I have to add.)
Anyhow.
I wanted to give my youngest niece a little Halloween card, but it couldn't be too fancy, because I'm a bit worried that she may eat everything that's not properly glued down. Being in the spirit of Bunnicula already, I thought I'd use the little trick- or treat bunny.
Well, here is the result. Very CAS to be me!

Couldn't resist a bit of dimensionals.

HahaHalloween Card / HahaHalloween Kort

I'm no Melissa...But I had fun. That's what counts!

Not too long ago, Melissa Philips posted a MIM video (#83) on how to make one of her fantastic cards. I've been yearning to try, though I haven't had any time until now. My time is filled with work, and I wonder if I work 100% or 150%?... I'm rather sure it's closer to the latter!
Anyhow, I decided that I'd finally try it.
I use the same layout (almost) as Melissa, but I do my own take on it, as usual.

---

Melissa P's card. The original.

My First Halloween Card 2012

Right now I don't have time for anything! My workload has been a bit extreme lately, to say the least. I was so stressed out that I just had to take a break and do something else for awhile. This is what happened yesterday evening, when I decided that I needed to make something fun, just for me, for just a couple of hours...
The lesson learned: It's very much easier to work when you take breaks!

My Cousin the Farmer

Front
The farmer from Oh Crop! looks suspiciously like my cousin - who is a farmer! Is the spitting image a coincidence or did the artist really do some research to see how a proper Swedish farmer looks like? The similarity is stunning! :)

Anyhow, he had to have a barn, a duck in the barn and some chickens around it. Looks like he got some hay in, even though we had a wet summer!

Don't you just find interactive cards very interesting? I do! I thought it'd be extra interesting with a sliding old picture from Jane Austen's time, especially since the birthday girl happens to be a big fan of the books. I heard that she liked it. :) I hope you like it too!

A Christmas Barn

I don't know, it's a bit early for Christmas, but I started to play with my barn die... and all of a sudden my project turned into a Christmas card! I got most of my new Christmas stamps a bit late last year, and because of that I have some new stuff that I need to try out!

Some tips and tricks concerning aging the barn:
  • Stamp the wood grain stamp on Pure Poppy cardstock with Pure Poppy ink. (It looks much better in real life!)
  • The white trimmings on the barn were aged down with Old Paper Distress ink. (None of my other ink colours looked good at all!)

"God jul" means "Merry Christmas" in Swedish.

Stuff used:

PTI stamps: Holiday Lights, BB: Farm and Barn
PTI dies: On the farm, In the meadow, Block alphabet die collection (lower case), Holly jolly and Shape up: barn die.
Inks: PTI (True black), Versa Magic (Turquoise gem, Aquatic splash, Mango madness)
PTI CS: Pure poppy, Ripe avocado, Sweet blush, Vintage cream and Classic craft.
Other: Embrodery floss, blingstones, small pearls, washi tape and glossy accent.

Adventures in Alcohol Ink

(This is about the real size of the image! It's hard to get the colours right on a photo. The inks are much deeper and you can't see the silver at all!)

I am doing my first experiments with Adirondack Alcohol Inks... I have such respect for Tim Holtz being able to master these inks! To make an understatement: these inks dry fast!
This little picture is just 3x4" in real life. I've used lots of blues, greens, alcohol inks blending solution and silver ink mixative.
The stamp is "Serenity" from Artistic Outpost stamped in Jet Black Archival Ink.
-----
